Our Story
Opened in 2010 Quality Transmission Of Bartow Co. is a localy owned family opperated Transmission repair shop in cartersville GA. Founded by Richard Wardell who has more than 20 years expierience in the automotive industry. Richard started his carrier as a general auto repair technichian in Killeen Texas.
After leaving the army in 1990, he moved to the atlanta area in the early 90's and worked for numerous autoshops and dealers throughout the years. he began building transmissions at Day Cheverolett in acworth, after attending the GM technical School. Richard eventually opened his own transmission shop, which operated until shortly before 2001 when Richard answered his nations call and rejoined the army in the GA national guard.

Richard served 2 combat tours overseas in support of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. He deployed in 2005 with the 108th armor as a mechanic on the abrahms tank and upon his return went back automotive work. in 2009 he again deployed to the middle east, this time tasked with teaching automotive maintenance to ANA soldiers in Afghanistan.

After his return and separation form the national guard in 2010 Quality transmission was opened at its current location on highway 41 in cartersville. The shop had its beginnings as an empty 3 bay garage on a gravel lot. it grew quickly gaining 3 lifts and additional equipment. Since its inception the business has grown in both capability and equipment gaining a state of the art parts cleaner, surfacing stones and check plates, precision measurement capabilities to the micron level, hot oil cooler flushing, mill and lathe machining capacity, and hydraulic circuit vacuum testing.
